More than 42,300 runners have already signed up for next year's Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, forcing organisers to close entries for several events. The half marathon and the second and third fields for the 10km race are full. The Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association said yesterday it expected the remaining places for the full marathon, the 10km Challenge and the first field for the 10km race would be filled before the December 31 deadline. Almost 44,000 runners took part in this year's edition of the popular event, forcing organisers to increase the quota to 50,000 for the February 17 races. The HKAAA has asked all interested runners to submit their applications promptly.
