A creative knowledge-based economy is the future of Hong Kong, president-elect of the Hong Kong Institute of Education Anthony Cheung Bing-leung told a conference this week. Education involved more than just the transfer of knowledge. Nurturing creativity in students was just as important, he said, addressing the annual general meeting of the Hong Kong Association of the Heads of Secondary Schools at the YMCA in Tsim Sha Tsui on Thursday.'Perhaps we need to give young people more space to develop their creativity,' he said. Professor Cheung said Hong Kong should cultivate talented people to turn the city into a creative, as well as economic, capital.
