SCMP Reporter

A JAPANESE group has won a $308 million contract to supply and install the automated people-mover system at Chek Lap Kok airport.

  The Provisional Airport Authority awarded the contract to the New Hong Kong Airport People-Mover joint venture, a consortium of five Japanese companies: Sumitomo Corp.

     Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Kobe Steel and Nissho Iwai Corp.
