MY father was admitted to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Hospital in Chai Wan recently. We used to take the 48M mini-bus from Chai Wan MTR Station to the hospital when he went to the out-patients clinic.

The 48M mini-bus used to park in the assigned covered area where other mini-buses also park. Recently however, the 48M's terminus was moved from the covered area to an open area at Cheung Lee Street, under instructions from the Transport Department.

Every day I take the 48M to visit my father. I can see other visitors and patients, including the very old and sick, having to line up in the cold wind.

During the typhoon season, they will have to endure rain and gusty winds. Why are the sick being penalised by having to wait for the mini-bus in the open when other passengers can wait in the covered area as before? What bothers me is that other mini-buses going to places like Stanley or Shek O can still use the covered area and their passengers are usually healthy youths, who go there with their barbecue gear.

I would like to ask the Transport Department, why the old and sick have to line up open to the elements, while the healthy and young are well protected by the shelter? Will the Transport Department, please re-consider this change and move the 48M mini-bus terminus back to the covered area? MING MOK Heng Fa Chuen
