Situated at the far end of the top deck of Central Pier No7, Watermark (above left) has a commanding, 270-degree view of Victoria Harbour, with an alfresco dining deck surrounding its main hall.
A stone entrance, complete with a waterfall feature, ushers guests into the 3,300 sq ft split-level dining room, built with teak, marble, metal and glass.
Igor's Group executive chef Angelo McDonnell has created a contemporary continental menu. Starters and salads include octopus and vegetable tempura with bonito custard (HK$108) and tomato panache with rocket, balsamic and crisp white radish biltong (HK$118).
The house speciality is steaks. Recommended dishes are grilled aged rib-eye with house fries (HK$450 to HK$650) and grilled Black Angus beef tenderloin with Wagyu beef cheek, parsnips and thyme-merlot glaze (HK$320). Other main courses include oven-roasted lamb rack with white bean cassoulet and celery root (above right; HK$298). To end the meal there are desserts such as burned-caramel flan with mocha biscotti, pine nuts and milk chocolate (HK$75).
