Rail passengers overcharged
Ninety-six Octopus Card users who switched between the MTR and former KCR networks through wide gates in Kowloon Tong and Tsim Sha Tsui were found to have been deducted between 10 cents and HK$2.20 in extra fares - the third such case since the railway merger on December 2. The MTR Corporation apologised for the error and said all five wide gates at the four interchange stations had been shut for inspection.
