Hong Kong's shocked Pakistani community plans to hold a memorial service and gatherings next week for former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
The secretary of the Pakistan Association of Hong Kong, Khurshid Hanafi, said her death was a shock to everyone, not only to people in Pakistan.
'We don't believe it, she was a good prime minister,' he said.
The Pakistani consulate said messages and expressions of concern had been flooding in by telephone and e-mail since Bhutto died on Thursday. 'They have sent us their concerns, appreciation of what she's been doing in Pakistan,' Consul General Tariq Shafi Chak said. 'We're replying to the messages.'
The consulate will hold services from Wednesday to Friday from 10am to noon and 3pm to 5pm at its offices where people will be able to offer condolences.
The association and groups such as the Pakistan Islamic Welfare Union will hold memorial gatherings next week at times yet to be decided.
