Fight to the beat of the music in the new Nintendo DS game Draglade from Atlus and Bandai Namco. Take on the role of one of four characters and battle your way through monsters and baddies to become an elite fighter known as a 'Major Grapper'. Similar to classics like Final Fight and Mega Man, Draglade includes elements of Pokemon and Dance Dance Revolution, giving it a bit more zing. The game is presented in a cool anime style that gives the overall graphic presentation a nice boost. The game starts off with you choosing one of four heroes and a little introduction as to why he wants to become a 'Major Grapper' (an elite arena fighter) and a simple tutorial on how to fight the baddies. Each character and your human opponents have a wrist device called a G-Con that collects 'Matter' from the surrounding environment and converts that energy into a weapon. The people who use these devices are called 'Grappers'. The Y and X buttons are your light and heavy attacks; B jump and A is special attack. When Grappers fight, 'beat combos' can be initiated by pressing the L button, which is a short collection of several beats. If you hit your opponent in tune with the beat, you can inflict more damage and earn extra points, which are turned into game cash. Draglade is a simple game that will take about five hours for each character to get through. The downside is that the action is almost the same for all four characters.
