Album to lift your spirits
Five-time Grammy winners Alvin and the Chipmunks have been releasing albums and singles for nearly 50 years. Making it big back in 1958 with their debut single The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't be Late), the boys are back with a new live action movie full of songs and a soundtrack to boot.
This is their first album for three years. The soundtrack is also the lads' 41st album that includes two updated arrangements of The Chipmunk Song. A DeeTown OG Mix remains quite faithful to the original and has Jason Lee playing the part of David Seville.
The second version is a DeeTown Rock Mix that has a faster tempo and features rock guitars and drums.
The first track is a cover of Daniel Powter's Bad Day that sounds bizarrely amusing and fun. Alvin nails it as the lead vocal, with Simon and Theodore singing back-up harmonies.
There are also covers of Funky Town and Only You that is just LOL (laugh out loud). The DeeTown Syndicate produced the album and also supplied several original songs that range from the hip hop How We Roll to teen pop Coast 2 Coast.
This is a fun album that really lifts your spirits when you're feeling a little blue and just great if you want to be silly for a moment. Children and adults who are still kids at heart will love this album.
