Wang Xin-yue clinched the silver medal in Ladies' Senior 500-metre race and bronze medals in the 1,000m and 1,500m. She also came sixth in 3,000m event. Junior teammate Lui Bar-ton won the bronze in Mens' Junior 500m and came fifth in 1,500m. The Ladies 3,000m relay team also won a bronze medal. 'I'm very satisfied with team's performance. We have demonstrated excellent teamwork and a positive team spirit,' said Hong Kong's coach Lu Shuo. The fine performance could have been even better had it not been for a mishap on the journey to Taiwan. When the team arrived at the airport Han Yue-shang's luggage was missing. in addition to losing her daily necessities, she lost her tailor-made skates. Han had no choice but to borrow a pair from her teammates. Because the skates were not exactly the right size her performance was affected. She finished fourth and fifth in the Ladies' Senior 1,500m and 3,000m races respectively. 'If Han hadn't lost her luggage, the team would have done even better. 'We are very disappointed with the airline because they did not find the bags until the end of the competition,' said Lu. Short track speed skating is a form of competitive ice speed skating. In competitions, multiple skaters have to skate on an oval ice track. The team will take part in the 11th National Winter Games of the PRC, which will be held in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province , from January 18 to 28.
