Big Bud has a Central role
Although January is usually a quiet period for live music, when heads are still throbbing and wallets remain bruised, there're still a few events coming up this month to bring punters out of the post-silly-season slump.
Drum'n'bass followers will be looking forward to the performance by Big Bud (right), a British DJ/producer who represents the more soulful side of the often harsh form of electronic dance music.
The British DJ, born Robin O'Reilly, has been releasing tracks on genre-defining labels such as Moving Shadow, Good Looking Records and Creative Source since 1994, with his sound bringing in elements of jazz, funk, soul and reggae.
O'Reilly will be bringing his dubwise soundscapes to new venue Twyst Mind in Central on January 19, with tickets costing HK$100 before midnight and HK$120 after that.
