Mobile charger users risk shock
People should not use Momax model MXTCRS1-MOV3 mobile phone chargers because a fault could give users an electric shock, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department warned yesterday. The supplier, NewStar Communication, has recalled the charger, which was sold in the city in June and July. Call the supplier's hotline, 3188-0017, for details.
Gang attacks pub customers
More than 10 men with knives rushed into a pub in Sai Yu Street, Yuen Long, attacked six customers and fled before police arrived. Six men aged between 18 and 30, who police said had been in a dispute with a group of pub customers earlier, were treated at Pok Oi Hospital and discharged. Anti-triad officers are investigating.
Five held over fake goods
Customs officers arrested five people for selling counterfeit goods and photocopies of past A-Level exam papers on internet auction sites in a month-long operation that ended on Thursday. Officers seized HK$80,000 worth of counterfeit goods such as handbags and photocopied papers. The suspects have been released on bail.
