THE Med Singapore, which can carry 2,250 20 ft containers, will join the new weekly Med Club Express (MEX) service between the Mediterranean and Far East on February 23, sailing from Tokyo.

It is the sister ship of Med Barcelona, owned by CMA of France, which operates a nine-vessel fleet jointly with NYK of Japan and Yang Ming of Taiwan on this route.

Med Barcelona launched the service by calling at Barcelona on January 29, Marseilles-Fos on January 30 and Genoa on February 1.

Export containers were loaded from these ports for Jeddah, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.
