Superjet goes to Setonaikai
HITACHI Zosen recently completed the Dougo, a foil-assisted catamaran in its Superjet-30 series, at its Kanagawa Works and delivered it to Japan's Setonaikai Steamship Co.
The vessel has been commissioned in the Hiroshima-Kure-Matsuyama service, together with the Zuiko of Ishizaki Steamship Co.
The high-speed passenger vessel is the fourth of the seven Superjet-30 ships ordered from Hitachi Zosen last year. Its advanced design meets the requirements of a high-speed passenger ship by giving passenger comfort, high-speed capability, and fuel economy.
The Dougo is equipped with a computerised rolling control device in its hydrofoils, and the design has proven cruising performance.
