Although Motorola has only recently launched its Moto Z8 entertainment phone here in Hong Kong, the company has already revealed its upgrade, the Moto Z10. The two models are nearly identical in looks and features. Both come with Motorola's new kick slide format which, in addition to the screen sliding upwards to reveal a keypad, tilts the 2.2-inch QVGA screen ups at a slight angle for better viewing. Both are packed with entertainment features, and come with support for quadband GSM and high speed HSPDA data connectivity capable of 3.6 Mbps of access. The big difference is the camera, which in the Z10 is upgraded to 3.2 megapixels from the 2 megapixels on the Z8. The Z10 is also marketed as a portable movie studio, capable of capturing 30 frames per second video, which is comparable to most camcorders - although the size and resolution of the video will be smaller, of course. The company says that the Z10 will also include editing software so you can splice together multiple videos, and add music, effects and commentary, as well as create title and credit shots directly on the phone. With the high-speed data access, you can now upload video directly to a number of video hosting sites such as YouTube, Google, Yahoo! and ShoZu. The Z10 also comes with support for the upcoming 32GB micro SD cards, compared to 4GB for the Z8. The Z8 sells for HK$3,680 while the Z10 is expected to be available in the first half of the year. Pros: unique kick slide design, big clear screen, high speed data, 32GB expansion potential (Z10) Cons: to Z8 now, or Z10 later - that is the question
