Who?
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid an official visit to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao  .
What?
The two leaders signed an agreement to expand trade between their countries to US$60 billion by 2010. They also agreed to co-operate on further joint military exercises.
When?
In 1962, a short-but-bloody war was sparked between Indian and China over Himalayan territory. No headway was made in ending this dispute at that time, but the leaders have now pledged to renew efforts to resolve the debate.
Where?
The three-day meeting is taking place in Beijing. It is the first visit by an Indian prime minister in five years.
Why?
The two nations' populations constitute a third of the world's population and are two of the world's fastest growing economies. Their co-operation is important for the peaceful development of Asia.
How?
The two nations have pledged to work to simplify relationships. Mr Wen said: 'We should respect each other, understand each other, trust each other and work with each other for mutual benefit and win-win progress.'
