Are Harvey Weinstein and Andrew Lau Wai-keung bringing Crockett and Tubbs to Hong Kong? Possibly. The Hollywood movie kingpin and Infernal Affairs co-director have confirmed they are planning a movie called Hong Kong Vice to be shot here. Rumour has it Donnie Yen Ji-dan (left) will be one of the stars and model Ankie Beilke has told us she will feature too. But reps for Weinstein and Lau warn the project is still in development due to delays caused by the Hollywood writers' strike. 'It's being written from Los Angeles,' one of its producers, Andrew Loo, said. 'You're asking me a month too early. There's a lot of stuff going on right now.' If all goes as planned, the production could begin as early as late spring. Loo said Hong Kong Vice wasn't the only project Lau was developing with the mogul. Two other action-oriented, English-language films were also being pushed along. 'One is set in Macau. It will be along the lines of Ocean's Eleven ... The third project is set in Bangkok.' We found online that the Bangkok movie was tentatively titled Honeymoon in Thailand and the Macau thriller might be called Interpol. But for now, let the debate begin on whether Yen is more suited to be Sonny Crockett or Ricardo Tubbs.
