1 Just to keep you up to date on the charity fund-raising walk. I have been having great fun ringing all the potential sponsors and planning our publicity campaign. I have so many ideas for the posters. The route is just perfect and police were very helpful. I think they were impressed by the careful preparation work we had done. Going over the route last weekend was a marvellous experience as well as being very useful. Now I can't wait to get on with the detailed planning of check points, stewards and first-aid teams. Thanks for asking me to help!
2 I think your view is a bit too black. We humans have got ourselves into many difficult situations, but we are also quite good at finding solutions. It seems to me that we will soon find less polluting ways of getting energy, and we will think of ways to clean the air. Of course, we won't be able to stop global warming completely but we will learn to live with it, growing new crops and developing new technologies. We will survive!
3 I have to tell you what just happened. I took that stupid computer back to the shop and told them all the problems we have had with it and they just weren't interested. Their attitude was a total disgrace. I warned them we would not accept such behaviour, but even that didn't make the fools act. I will call the police and the Consumer Council this afternoon. How dare they treat us like this!
