Coming to a venue near you
Every so often a record label comes along that becomes the standard bearer of an entire genre - such as Blue Note for jazz, Motown for soul and funk and Def Jam for hip hop.
While not in the same league, British imprint Finger Lickin' has for a decade been the biggest label in the upfront dance movement of breakbeat. Its roster reads like a who's who of breaks, featuring the awesome Plump DJs, the Drumattic Twins, Krafty Kuts and Lee Coombs.
Now heading to Hong Kong for the Lunar New Year are up-and-coming Finger Lickin' duo Brothers Bud, made up of Dom Farrington and Ollie Gregson (right). Both come from a solid background in early rave culture, but are now known for chunky breakbeats, screeching leads and huge sub-bass.
Gig details have yet to be confirmed, but it will take place next weekend at an 800-capacity venue. As the Post will not be printed next Thursday due to the holiday, check online clubbing guides for details.
