Sometimes you will need to turn written information into graphic form, maybe a mind map, a flow chart or a bar-graph. Read the interview with a government officer and complete the flow chart as you do so.
Can you tell me the procedure followed in the case of an environmental nuisance?
When we find that we have a case of environmental nuisance we have to decide if it is urgent or not.
If we think it needs action, we then have to consider the circumstances. The most important thing is to find out if we know who is responsible for the nuisance.
If we do, the procedure is obvious. We contact them and ask them to do something as soon as possible.
If they agree, we give them a few days and then we check to see if the situation is now acceptable.
If it is, well everything is fine and the case is over.
Sometimes people promise action but do not do anything, so we do  the work required for them and send them the bill.
They must pay the bill or we will take them to court and they will be in big trouble.
Do you ever find people who simply refuse to do anything?
Sadly we do sometimes. Of course, our priority is to get some action.
If the person responsible refuses to co-operate, we move in at once and fix the problem as quickly as
we can.
They receive the bill, a stern warning and possibly a fine, depending on the circumstances.
That leaves the non-urgent cases
Yes. If we know who to contact, it is the same as before but  we give them a bit more time to do their part.
If we do not know who to speak to, we can spend  some more time trying to find out information. So we put up notices in the area asking for help or action if the right person reads them.
After we go and look a month or so later and the problem has been dealt with, we are satisfied and then the  case is closed. If nothing has happened, we will do the work and go on looking for whoever should pay for it.
We usually find them in the end.
