CUHK students meet visiting mainland scientists

Students at Chinese University were given the chance to quiz five leading mainland scientists yesterday in the first in a series of lectures by visiting academics. The five members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences are part of a delegation making a six-day visit to the university. Neuroscientist Professor Ju Gong, zoologist Professor Liu Yixun, botanist Professor Sun Handong, biochemist Zhang Yonglian and plant physiologist Zhao Guoping met with students after giving lectures on their most recent research. CUHK pro-vice-chancellor Kenneth Young said the visit was intended to develop closer relations with the academy and promote collaboration on research.
