Winter clothing wanted for needy seniors

St James' Settlement has issued an urgent appeal for donations of winter clothes or other materials to help more than 200 needy elderly people living in remote rural areas to fight the cold snap, which has dragged on for almost two weeks. The organisation has already helped elderly residents in Tai O and Ping Chau and is now giving out winter materials in border areas. The donation hotlines are 81078324 or 28354321. The cold weather warning, issued at 3pm on January 24, is forecast to remain in force throughout the Lunar New Year holidays.
