Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are . . .
How much of the lyrics to this children's song do you know? Acclaimed local illustrator Bien Yip Wing, better known as b.wing, has decided to use this song as the theme for her latest exhibition being held at the art gallery inside The Grand cinema at Elements.
'This song is just like one of the many familiar things that we know in life. We think we know so much about it, but in fact, we don't,' she said.
'When I was young, my mother used to sing [the song] a lot at home. But it was only recently that I got to know the meaning of its lyrics.'
The exhibition features many life-size posters and illustrations that revolve around a boy trying to find the star that he has lost.
'Nowadays, people have dreams and wishes that are just too materialistic. Why can't we have some simple wishes anymore?' she asked.
'My wish is for the world to be silent for five minutes. The world has been noisy and chaotic enough; it would be nice to have some peace and quiet.'
