TWO additional murder charges have been laid in North Kowloon Court against a man who allegedly set fire to a Shekkipmei bank last month. Electrical sub-contractor Chu Po-kwong, 32, originally faced 10 counts of murder and one count of arson. Chu, who appeared briefly before magistrate John Meredith, is accused of murdering Yue Wing-ching, 35, Lee Chi-wang, 56, Li Shuk-yee, 33, Au Wai-ming, 30, Hung Min-si, 43, Hui Yiu-kwong, 38, Chiu Lo-mui, 33, Kan Yip Yuk-fong, 45, Lui Sau-chu, 26, and Tsang Liu Pui-kee, 26, between January 10 and 21. He is also accused of fire-bombing the Hongkong Bank in Nam Cheong Street on January 10. No pleas have been taken. Chu is also charged with murdering Yu Tsui-may, 40, and Ha Ming-on, 20, on January 30 and 31 respectively. The case was transferred to Eastern Court for committal proceedings, and Chu was remanded in custody.
