Gleeson joins Law Society

THE former Registrar-General Noel Gleeson has been admitted to practise as a solicitor.

His admission on Lunar New Year's Eve was moved by Legislative Councillor Ronald Arculli who himself is a solicitor.

Appearing before the Chief Justice Sir Ti Liang Yang, Mr Arculli said Mr Gleeson had been in Hong Kong since 1962 and had been in Government service for 31 years when he retired last August.

He was responsible for the redrafting of the system of land registration in Hong Kong which would have a long-term effect on lands and property in the future, said Mr Arculli. Sir Ti Liang said it was a great pleasure to welcome Mr Gleeson.
