Since 2005, Nokia has loudly trumpeted its Nseries handsets as 'multimedia computers' rather than smartphones. The hype continues with the compact N82, a candy-bar-format 3.5G camera-phone touted as an alternative to an entry-level digital still camera. The N82 is equipped with a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a 2.4-inch screen, a 3D multimedia menu and a powerful xenon flash, a feature that enables vivid pictures to be achieved even in poor lighting. The N82 offers fast camera activation and swift reloading between shots. The device produces DVD-quality video images. It comes with a 2-gigabyte microSD memory card, which can store up to 900 high-resolution photos or up to 84 minutes of video. The handset has high-speed Wi-fi connectivity and a one-click upload function for photos and videos. The N82 costs HK$4,998.
