Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin gave world number two Natalie Grinham of Australia a real fright before losing in the quarter-finals of the Kuala Lumpur Open last night. Hong Kong number one Chiu took one game off the former World and British Open finalist before she finally succumbed to Grinham, who is also the 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, 9-7, 9-2, 7-9, 9-3. Chiu had earlier disposed of England's world number eight, Jenny Duncalf, in a surprise 9-2, 9-5, 9-3 second-round victory on Wednesday. Chiu recently led Hong Kong to two silvers and a bronze medal at the recent Asian Championships in Kuwait.
