The Hamptons: the name means different things to different people. It could evoke those salty weekends in Sex and the City or the beach house in the Jack Nicholson movie Something's Gotta Give, for example. This probably explains why the exclusive seaside suburb has inspired furniture maven David Chiu to come up with another Hamptons 'look'. Opulent but contemporary and feminine, Hamptons White (the third outlet after Hamptons Caine and Hamptons Horizon), he says, 'is geared more towards a female clientele'. Highlights include the Jeremy work desk (bottom; HK$7,999), which is made of elm, finished in lacquer and supported by stainless steel Rococo-style legs; and the Dragon seat in velvet and horsehair (armchair, below, HK$7,999; two seater, HK$11,999). Hamptons White is at 9/F, Horizon Plaza, 2 Lee Wing Street, Ap Lei Chau, tel: 2553 8762.
