Maggie Cheung Man-yuk was seen but not heard on Thursday night at Lane Crawford's IFC store. She's one of six internationally renowned Chinese stars photographed by the Dutch duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin as part of the retailer's spring-summer campaign. Thursday's gathering was to unveil the display of portraits, collectively titled TrANSITIONs, at the store. Other faces include actor Liu Ye, model Du Juan and ballerina Tan Yuanyuan. While Cheung (below) looked sophisticated as always, by now her reticence with the local media is well known. Once again, she declined to speak to entertainment reporters. You can't really blame her - at this stage in her career, she doesn't need the publicity, nor the silly intrusive queries. Staying for just 30 minutes, some might think Cheung was acting like a diva, except that she chatted happily with old friends and posed for pictures with guests. But as for talking, she left that to others, like make-up artist Zing Wong. 'She is such an easygoing person,' he said in her defence. 'The older she gets, it seems to me the easier it is to work with her. I don't believe anyone who has ever worked with Maggie would find her difficult at all.'
