High society is in turmoil over the revelations of a disgruntled tell-all blogger, whose disclosures about Manila's so-called 'Gucci gang' are testing the limits of legality.

The blog by Australian flower farmer Brian Gorrell is about his battle for money he says he is owed by a former gay lover, a fixture of Philippine society.

It has received 300,000 site visits and generated 3,000 e-mails since it was set up two weeks ago.

The blog luridly details the alleged drug-taking, snobbery and general misbehaviour which Mr Gorrell says he witnessed during the affair.

Mr Gorrell said he invested A$70,000 (HK$494,000) with his ex-boyfriend, whom he claimed enticed him into co-owning a 'fabulous' restaurant in Manila during their 'short romantic fling' on the island resort of Boracay in January last year.

'We spent two weeks together on Boracay [then] I went back to Australia ... [during which time] I sent all my money to him,' Mr Gorrell said.
