Singaporean pop princess Stefanie Sun Yan-zi has set her sights on a new career - acting.

The Taiwan-based singer-songwriter (right) has never appeared in a movie but said she would love to act. 'I will be ecstatic if I can make a film,' said Sun, who performed at the recent Asian Film Awards.

The bubbly singer said she loved comedy and her favourite filmmaker is actor-director Stephen Chow Sing-chi. 'Something fun and quirky would be great but I am up for anything,' she said.

Sun, who turns 30 this year, said she had wanted to act for some time but had been too timid to do it.

'There have been a few opportunities in the past but I still haven't found the right project. Perhaps I am too chicken.'

So who would she pick as her co-star? 'Whoever has the best look I'll work with him,' Sun said with a laugh. 'To me, Tony Leung [Chiu-wai] is the best looking guy.'
