A worker, 54, was arrested yesterday after a 2.5 metre by 2.2 metre window pane in a 17th-floor office of Central Tower in Queen's Road Central broke and rained down glass fragments, hitting two taxis. The man, surnamed Lau, and his colleagues were trying to fix the window when the incident happened at about 10am. He suffered minor hand injuries and was treated at Queen Mary Hospital. Police said the windscreens of the two cabs were cracked. The arrested man was released on HK$500 bail and has to report back to police on April 20.
