Brand story: Bliss

Who's behind it? The original spa and skin-care products were created by Marcia Kilgore in New York in 1996, sold to LVMH in 2000, then bought by Starwood Hotels in 2004.

What's the spin? 'We're all about fun and efficacy with indulgence,' says brand manager Robyn Fishelson of the products.

What about the spa? A Bliss spa will open in Hong Kong at the W Hotel, now under construction in Kowloon. 'It will be different from other Bliss spas in that it will be more of a resort destination with a swimming pool area and hot tub. This will service the local clientele and also someone on a vacation.'

Anything else? The company is reformulating existing products to be paraben-free by 2009.
