Wales has its own version of the All Blacks in the shape of Neath RFC, the oldest club in the country (founded 1871), who wear an all-black kit but with a giant white Maltese cross on the breast where New Zealand has its silver fern. Neath have a well-earned reputation for hard play. In 1992, Wallaby coach Bob Dwyer described playing Neath at The Gnoll, their small, intimidating ground, as 'an ordeal'. He noted the Welshmen's no-nonsense approach to the game and labelled them as 'the worst bag-snatchers (scrotum squeezers) in world rugby', adding 'anyone considering playing here should bring a cricket box with them'. The team now play in the Welsh Premier Division.
