Chen turns sleeping beauty on set
Kelly Chen Wai-lam's secret to staying thin and looking good has been revealed by Leon Lai Ming, her co-star in An Empress and the Warriors.
Lai said: 'With an early schedule, filming would usually start at 6am and finish at 8pm. At the end of the day, Kelly would go straight to bed without eating anything. She would sleep for more than 15 hours until the next day's shooting began.
'She says it's a natural way to stay beautiful and in shape without taking any expensive side products and supplements. It should save her a lot of money.'
Lai said that Chen (right) would still look great in 10 years as she is a real 'sleeping beauty'.
In the film, directed by martial arts choreographer Ching Siu-tung, Chen plays an exiled princess who has to choose between her love (Lai) and her fallen empire.
Chen, 34, admitted sleeping is her key to looking pretty. 'If you want your skin to look good, apart from skin-care products, plenty of sleep is essential so I take any opportunity to take a nap between filming scenes.'
