A 60-year-old mainland tourist walking near a path leading to Wong Tai Sin Temple was hurt when a branch fell from a tree and hit his leg. The man, part of a tour group, was heading to the temple at about 9am when he was struck by a 6-metre-long branch, which fell from a 15-metre-high tree in a car park on a government site. He was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Firemen cut the branch into pieces and disposed of it. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department said the tree was not listed in the registry for old and valuable trees. A spokesman for the Lands Department said they had asked the car park operator to ensure that trees on the site posed no threat.
