The Island Shangri-La recently reopened its Pool Deck restaurant after a HK$2.5 million refurbishment. Furnished with wooden tables and rattan chairs, the teak 'deck' seats 50.
The menu is in keeping with the eatery's relaxed Mediterranean feel. Dishes include a mezze selection (bulgur and parsley salad, hummus, eggplant compote and stewed potato and codfish salad; HK$150), Lebanese salad with feta cheese (HK$120), cucumber and yogurt tzatziki with salmon (HK$140), grilled mackerel with raw zucchini and Lebanese potato salad (below right; HK$260), seared chicken leg chermoula with chickpea and lemon confit (HK$260), vegetable lasagne with yellow capsicum sauce (right; HK$160), zuccotto with Piemonte hazelnut ice cream (HK$85) and creme Catalane (below; HK$85).
