Hong Kong-based Dickson Yewn has designed a set of melo pearl jewellery for auction house Sotheby's. Comprising a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings, it will be the first complete suite of melo pearl jewellery to be offered at auction. Unlike cultured pearls, melo come in varying sizes but with a shape most closely resembling an almond. Their unusual bright orange hue makes them stand out. The suite will be auctioned on April 10 at Sotheby's, Hong Kong. For more information, contact Rhonda Yung, tel: 2822 8143.
