What treatment did you have? An express manicure and milk and honey paraffin wax therapy. The spa offers mainly nail treatments, hair removal and massages. What was the atmosphere like? In the right place a nail treatment can be as pampering and relaxing as an expensive facial or a full body massage. The Jasmine Room is one such place. Unlike many local spas, the treatment room is spacious and airy and much thought has gone into the ambience. The girly colour scheme is pink and grey, with pretty black and white floral wallpaper offset by sparkling chandeliers and grey rococo-style chairs. Light jazz enhances the period boudoir feel. How was the treatment? The express manicure included all the usual trimming and filing techniques, except buffing, which is part of a full treatment. I placed my hands in plastic bags filled with what felt like creamy molten candle wax. Hot towels were wrapped around the bags while I relaxed for 15 minutes waiting for the wax to set. Once it had, the therapist peeled it off, leaving my skin smelling gorgeous. O.P.I polish was then skilfully applied to my nails. What were the results? My hands felt soft and deeply moisturised and my nails looked fab. How much and where is it? The express manicure is HK$180 and the paraffin wax treatment is an extra HK$160.The Jasmine Room is at 15/F, The Loop, 33 Wellington Street, Central, tel: 2522 8353. The spa also offers a room for private parties.
