The Brightex Group, a textile manufacturing company in which Camden Rich is an investor, is looking for a high-calibre candidate to fill the role of business development director to help expand a men's brand, in the mainland. Camden Rich is a private equity company specialising in identifying best investment opportunities in the mainland, 'This is an important role to both Camden Rich and Brightex Group as the person will be responsible for expanding the retail operations to all parts of China, and will be leading a team who will assist him or her in making a leading brand in middle- to high-range menswear in China,' said Timothy Shen, a Camden Rich spokesman. 'With the huge consumer market in China, the prospect for extensive development and branding for our menswear is unlimited, so we are looking for a competitive and self-initiated individual who can help us be part of this.' The newly created position requires plenty of travel to the mainland to talk to potential franchisees and retail outlets, and attend various trade and consumer-based exhibitions and fashion shows within and outside of the mainland to promote the brand and its retail operations. Brightex has 20 outlets in the mainland and aims to open 50 or more shops there by the end of this year. It also wants to go public in 2009. 'With a quality product like this and the ambitious goal in mind, we need someone who can locate our target consumers for us efficiently in China and bring our product to them,' said Franky Choi, chairman of Brightex Group. 'We know that there is definitely a demand for our product as there is a group of successful business professionals in China longing for some quality and fashionable business and leisure wear to express their taste in life and demand for comfortable yet classy designs.' The ideal candidate should have a university degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, marketing or retail, with at least 10 years' experience in merchandising in the luxury apparel industry including brand management and buying. Good exposure to the mainland retail market and experience in setting up direct retail, joint venture and franchise outlets is imperative for the position. 'We want someone who is determined to succeed and to achieve what we want to achieve with our product, as this is our baby and this person will need to share the same passion as we do towards our product,' Mr Choi said. Other duties include negotiating and determining contract terms, executing and developing sales and marketing plans, ensuring regional training programmes are in place and evaluating market data to identify trends and opportunities. 'Every day there should be something new and challenging for you to handle,' Mr Choi said.
