At eight years old, it's still a game to be in the media spotlight. Kadin - the son of celebrity couple Michael Wong Man-tak and Janet Ma Sze-wai - was out yesterday with his parents at the opening of the first store of Australian children's wear brand Seed, at Lee Gardens in Causeway Bay.

Kadin (below with his dad) has been in the limelight since he starred with his mother as a baby in a milk powder advertisement. But Wong said he wanted to keep their two daughters out of it.

'At Kadin's stage, it's OK. To children like him, [attending public functions] is like playing. But when they get a bit older like my daughters, who are in their teens, I don't like them to be in the press too much. They are at the stage where they start to ... have their own egos.'

He said girls of their age who had been exposed to the media in the US were at risk of losing their sense of reality.

While Kadin - who wants to be a basketball player like Michael Jordan - said the paparazzi could be a pain (like last week, when they followed the family on a shopping trip in Happy Valley), their famous status did have its advantages. It meant that at concerts he could meet celebrities backstage.
