Locating quality space to set up an office can be a drawn-out exercise.
Despite the obvious need for office buildings, the actual amount of construction now taking place is limited.
Among the most daunting problems is the inability of developers to easily relocate residents from a future construction site.
Vietnam is unlike Hong Kong or Britain, where government authorities have a system to deal effectively with this issue, and many locals believe that by refusing to move, they can strike it rich.
''It's an extremely difficult and sensitive subject anywhere in the world, and it's particularly difficult in this environment,'' said Tim Robinson, resident manager at First Pacific Straits Land.
