420 top students to skip university entrance exams
Some 420 Form Six students will skip entrance exams and head straight into university this September through the 2008 Early Admission Scheme. The University of Hong Kong admitted 170 of these top students. Chinese University admitted 206 students and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology accepted 44 students.
Coke bun tower wins contest
Two design students at Polytechnic University have transformed a Coke bottle into a Cheung Chau-style bun tower and won the Hong Kong Art Jamming Contest. The winning design will be displayed at the Beijing Olympics.
Primary maths prize up for grabs
Some 135 Primary Three to Six students from 45 schools will compete in the third Hong Kong Primary Schools Mathematics Trail Competition today. The students will be asked to solve maths problems set on a trail around a school campus in Tuen Mun.
