It's not enough for Christine Park to just be the refined owner of an art gallery, she wants everyone to be just as refined. A one-time flight attendant, Park - formerly Christine Chu - is relaunching her Christine Lifestyles gallery shop on the second floor of 13 Wyndham Street, Central, with an opening dinner tonight. However, it's now more than just a shop selling nice classical paintings, furniture and housewares. It will also be a school offering a six-session lifestyle course. Sounds like the making of an Asian Martha Stewart. 'The school's course will have six classes,' Park said. 'I have hired instructors for table setting, flower arrangement, social etiquette, housekeeping and beauty care. Ricky Kwok of Le Salon Orient has offered to help me in teaching the beauty care class. There is also a class for preparing quick meals for dinners. As you know, everyone in Hong Kong is so busy but it's important to eat well so I have a Korean chef teaching some healthy meals.' Park might have a nice home on The Peak and collect fabulous art now, but she wasn't always so well off. The aim of her gallery school is to offer a bit of that elegance to everyday Hongkongers. 'Luxury is not just for the rich. I came to Hong Kong with an empty suitcase so I wasn't always rich. We can all make our lives more beautiful with some nice flowers, table setting and art.'
