You never know what to expect when musicians decide to DJ at a club. There's always that chance they just might take the music, and even themselves, a little too seriously for it to be enjoyable.

But this won't be the case for Matt Gooderson and Richie Vernon, members of British act the Infadels, who also hit the decks as DJs. They should allay any concerns punters have as their sets include cheeky bootlegs such as Vanilla Ice mashed up with Hot Chip, and other pleasing sounds.

The duo appear in Hong Kong tomorrow night for several rounds of electro fun. The Infadels formed in 2003 after realising they had a mutual love for 90s dance music, the Stooges and Primal Scream. As a result, the two DJ-ing members of the five-man lineup play a frenetic mix of indie/electro and pretty much anything that gets a dance floor going.

Gooderson describes the band's sound as 'a sound clash between [vocalist] Bnann Watt's ideas and mine. He is the acoustic troubadour who thinks Bob Dylan's a genius and I'm the sonic guy who would rather listen to Steve Reich or Brian Eno.'

Apparently it's a clash that's hitting all the right notes. The band is a current indie darling, while the DJs have remixed the likes of Felix da Housecat and Black Francis, and are tearing up the clubs in Britain.
