Simpatico Shop 19, 1/F Peak Galleria, 118 Peak Road, The Peak, 28490001 Southern Italian fare is on offer, though the ambience is modern Italian with a great outdoor dining area perfectly situated to catch the evening breezes in summer. The view over the harbour is stunning and inside is an open kitchen with tables set far apart to ensure intimacy. It'll cost about HK$300 per person without wine at a venue which is perfect for a romantic dinner. The service is excellent from super friendly staff. The menu is extensive but easy to read with English translations of the Italian. The food is prepared simply but with attention to detail. The grilled rack of lamb with hazelnut and baked vegetables was done to a turn, medium, crispy on the outside and pink, but not underdone, on the inside. The pizza base was thinner than normal without being too hard. The dessert menu is original and mouthwatering with the coconut mousse particularly tasty. On the down side, an overabundance of rocket or lettuce with the starters leaves you searching for the main attraction, which in our case was either the zesty seared tuna in black pepper crust or the sauteed mushrooms with mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes. However, the saffron risotto fritters stuffed with sausage and fontina was a stand out.
