It's cool, fast and a great place to buy anything from a car to a compact to round off your makeup collection. Now one candidate will get a chance to work for eBay.com.hk as it begins its search for a business development manager. With its community culture, eBay would prefer someone with excellent communication and leadership skills, creative thinking and at least eight years of international retail or business development experience in the consumer goods industry. Part of the job involves developing sellers to list on eBay's global platform and developing a seller base in Hong Kong. Growing online trading business, ensuring that business objectives are met and working with customer service teams to manage key accounts are other responsibilities. Working for a website company means that an in-depth knowledge of the internet market is required. And from a business perspective, experience in building new businesses and brands in fast-paced markets is a strength. Academically, a bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline will do, but an MBA would stand out. The musts include fluency in Cantonese and English, and being a self-motivated team player with a passion for and a working knowledge of how eBay works from the perspectives of the buyer and the seller. Being pragmatic, driven, objective and able to work under pressure in a changing business environment are musts too.
