BaptistU gets HK$3m donation to fund scholar's visits and academic exchange
Baptist University has received a HK$3 million donation from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. The fund, which will be doubled to HK$6 million under the government's matching grant scheme, will be used to subsidise visiting research scholars from the mainland and academic exchange.
Video business proposal wins award
Students from Chinese University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies have won a business proposal contest with an idea for videos on Facebook and YouTube to promote Ocean Park. The Business Innovation Awards 2008, organised by Polytechnic University, won the team HK$15,000 and a top-up degree scholarship.
Electronics engineer elected fellow
Cao Xiren, chair professor in electronic and computer engineering at University of Science and Technology, has been elected a fellow of the International Federation of Automatic Control.
