Dongfang wins job
DONGFANG Electrical Machinery Co has won a 19.6 million yuan (HK$17.4 million) order to supply generators for a power station in Guizhou province.
The company, one of the first nine mainland Chinese enterprises chosen by Beijing to list on the Hong Kong stock exchange, expects further orders from the same power plant.
Dongfang is to supply coal-fuelled steam turbine generators with a capacity of 200,000 kilowatts for a power plant under construction at Pan Xian in Guizhou under the terms of the contract signed on January 28.
A Dongfang spokesman said Guizhou Electrical Engineering Co had chosen Dongfang from a number of manufacturers of thermal power generating equipment.
The latest order is the second placed with Dongfang by Guizhou Electrical Engineering Co.
In 1988, Dongfang was also contracted to supply and install two sets of coal-fuelled steam turbine generators, each with a capacity of 200,000 kw.
