Hong Kong's first educational film studio offers people the chance to take a closer look at how films are made.
Infinito Education Studio of Hong Kong is located on the former site of Pak Kau College in Yuen Long. Lee Lik-chee, the man behind many famous Hong Kong comedies such as From Beijing with Love and King of Comedy, is the studio's director.
'Hong Kong currently lacks facilities where people can practise shooting a film,' says Lee. 'Learning the theory in a classroom is not enough.'
Tertiary institutes, including the Institute of Vocational Education and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, do not provide studio facilities.
'We're not competitors. Our studio just provides a place for film students to practise what they've learned from lectures.'
Lee wants to teach students the fundamentals of filmmaking. 'We hope to give them a rundown of the process, including things like resources management and manpower allocation.
'Film production is group work. We're not training movie stars,' he says.
